DIY Sore Muscle Soak

Hi there! So I wanted to start sharing DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) beauty tips on my blog and share inexpensive ways to make you feel more pampered. Also I want to share more about ingredients and the benefits of them and what they can do for you and your skin. My first share is for sore muscles. When I worked at a day spa we made up bath soaks for clients and one I really liked was called the mineral bath soak. Also this is an easy recipe that you can make and probably have most ingredients at home.
Always check with your doctor before beginning any natural or alternative treatment program.

According to an article on livestrong.com
A detoxifying bath helps release toxins stored in our fat cells and organs through the combination of specific ingredients that combine with heat to bring waste elements to the skin's surface, flushing them out through the pores. Additionally, a good detox bath can strengthen the immune system, improve skin texture, help with sluggish digestion, ease the pain of aches and inflammation and assist in preventing the invasion of free radicals. Because the skin absorbs helpful nutrients easily, taking a bath with nutritious ingredients is an excellent way to help detoxify the body.

WHAT YOU NEED

Sea Salt

Stress Reducer

Greeks and Romans both used warm seawater as a therapy to help people relax. This is now called talassotherapy, a word derived from the old Greek word thalassa that means sea. According to Health-Benefit-of-Water.com, sea salt bath therapy provides psychological benefits and improves quality of sleep.

Detoxifier

Sea salt is a natural detoxifier, as the salt absorbs the toxins from the skin. Make a paste out of sea salt and water, apply it to your skin and leave it on for one minute before you get into the shower. Massage the salt off gently in the shower as you bathe. This will not only help detoxify your skin, but will help exfoliate dead skin cells as you rinse it off.

Additional Benefits

Increased circulation, antiseptic effects, soft skin without a greasy feel and reduction in fluid retention are just some of the additional benefits of sea salt for the skin. Since sea salt does not go through the same manufacturing processes as table salt, the minerals from the sea remain, giving sea salts different colorings depending on where they are from. Many of these minerals also provide nutrients and benefits to the skin.

Epsom Salt

Relieve Pain

Soaking in warm water mixed with 2 to 4 cups of Epsom salt can help you relax and reduce inflammation in your joints and muscles. The magnesium in Epsom salt can help reduce swelling and ease acute muscle and joint pain

Skin Conditions/Problems

Epsom salt baths can help soothe your skin and provide relief from some chronic skin conditions. Soaking in a warm Epsom salt bath for at least 15 minutes can help soothe red, inflamed skin and remove scales from psoriasis

Baking Soda

Detox

Also popularly known as sodium bicarbonate, baking soda is a highly alkaline product that can help oust poisons from the body.  It also keeps the blood at a healthy pH, whereby it is able to carry more oxygen so that the body can efficiently eliminate waste.

You will want to use equal parts of each for your bath
Mix together and run under your water.
I also love to add a few drops of essential oils, to add a lil scent. French Lavendar is one of my favorites for relaxation. Or peppermint to uplift :)

And thats it! Super easy...
